June 2024 Recap
After dealing with Mamaw, the Witch Of High Hollow, and the end of the Blight, Jericho and its allies began to push back the Rosenberg and Diamondback forces from the town walls.
With the battles spilling out into farmsteads and the roads, locals found themselves caught in the middle of the exchanges. It was here that Father Seed, head of the Seed Family and spiritual leader of the Rosenberg Community, sowed dissent amongst these displaced people.
In the sweltering heat, he roused the masses, playing on their fear and outrage at the disturbance of their peace and livelihood and lead them in a mob to Jericho. He aimed to goad the townsfolk into fighting the very people they would call neighbors and prove the Rosenberg offensive is justified.
However, the town did not draw any innocent blood and managed to push Father Seed to leave, tracking him straight back to where his Nuclear Family monastery was.
There, in the heart of his home, the assembled citizens of Jericho Junction battled through Father Seed's zealots and Family in order to bring the charismatic cult leader down.
Just as the Blue Ridge Tribe, under the leadership of Uncle Monongahela came to help with a volley of poisoned arrows, the townsfolk retreated with another blow against the Rosenbergs under their belt. When not dealing directly with the incited locals, Jericho was also facing a strange new phenomenon of mutated spiders stalking around in the night hunting for food.
This of course comes with the added danger of Nesting Raiders, who are known to have a symbiotic relationship with the spiders they coexist with. The townsfolk were also able to strike some decisive blows against the naval blockade that inhibited watercraft travel and blow through another Diamondback checkpoint with the help of an Ironheart armored truck.
With several victories secured, the townsfolk are looking to press their advantage and finally smoke out the Blue Ridge Tribe and Uncle Monongahela from the wilderness surrounding Jericho. There's also a lot of groundwork to be done to free up more of the roads, waters, and air around town. The war has taken it's toll on both Jericho and the Deadfall Line. But the Rosenbergs and Diamondbacks are losing ground. If they hold out a little longer, they can win this thing.
